BSD’s Campus is under 24/7 surveillance and vigilant staff to overlook the student’s safety and security. BSD Emergency Procedures: When a situation arises that has the potential to place the BSD community at risk, the Bangalore School of Design will communicate with students, parents, faculty, and staff via email & phone and the main website, www.bsd.edu.in. Bangalore School of Design has a strict ”Students Sexual Misconduct Policy” which enables students to file a report, seeking response and options for confidential disclosure. More information will be shared during the admission process. In addition to the above BSD’s campus has a strict policy against ragging and all students must undertake “Anti – Ragging Policy”, incidents that are reported to the committee will affect the student’s continuance with the college.
BSD runs different cells (organizations) that commit to the welfare and safety of the students. They consist of members from the student body, the faculty and the management to keep communication lines open and to best solve any problems faced by the students. The cells are as follows :
- SAMATA CELL – Discrimination against any person on the grounds of his/her disability or physical limitations and minority status is a gross violation of universally accepted principles of equality and human rights and even constitutional obligations. This cell aims a) To create an atmosphere of Equal Opportunity through awareness generation programs. To provide auxiliary support towards skill development and enhancing employability of students. b) To expedite legal redressal in matters of violation of equal opportunity.
- ANTI RAGGING CELL – The Anti ragging committee is responsible for preventing and punishing the incidents of student harassment and ragging on the campus. It has powers to receive complaints from any aggrieved party and conduct inquiry into the matter. The committee will recommend appropriate action to the college authorities. The committee is chaired by the Chairperson and may meet as and when necessary.
- ARIVU – Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell (Internal Complaints Committee) named “Arivu” is reconstituted to provide for the effective enforcement of the basic human rights of gender equality and guarantee against sexual harassment and abuse, and to provide conducive atmosphere in the campus, to all the staff members, employees and students of BSD. The Objectives of the Committee a) To prevent sexual harassment by promoting gender amity among staff, students and other employees. b) To deal with cases of sexual harassment in a time bound manner, aiming at ensuring support services to the victimized, prevention and termination of the harassment.
