Faculty of Product Design

Pritika Sekar is an industrial designer hailing from India, currently based in Finland. She has previously worked in India at Philips, at Pensa LLC in New York, and Nonobject in Palo Alto where each studio has given her a world of knowledge in the field of design and helped her constantly grow and explore.

Before that, she spent 5 years learning from the best in Industrial Design at ISD Rubika, Pune, and later received a Master’s in Industrial Design Management. Here she had the chance to collaborate with several companies during international masterclasses and intense projects.

She believes that design isn’t just about “making something look appealing,” and is rather “making the user experience meaningful.” Her design work is driven by understanding user needs and goals. From analog sketching to getting her hands dirty in making quick mock-ups to the final 3D modeling and rendering, she likes to explore various aspects of the design process before arriving at a practical and meaningful solution. As a designer, She believes in solving problems by creating useful, usable, and beautiful solutions that improve the relationship between users and products.

Furthermore, her fine art background has made her more sensitive to colors, form, texture, layout composition, and illustration, all of which help in the overall design process.
